Lana Lee Apana (Putney)'s Obituary
A God-fearing, patriotic, and loving woman, Lana Lee Apana, age 76, of Centerville, passed away Friday, January 17th, 2020 at Laurels of West Carrollton.
She was born in Charleston, West Virginia on October 21st, 1943 to Phyllis Aretta (Blankenship) and Robert David Richard Putney. She retired from her position in Civil Service from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Lana was extremely patriotic and passionate about political viewpoints. She enjoyed reading and writing about her opinions and why they were important. She also enjoyed writing poetry; one of her most inspiring experiences was traveling to Ireland. Lana loved listening to many different kinds of music, such as Eric Clapton, Big Band, The Kingston Trio, and Glenn Miller. Anyone who knew Lana, knew that she had to have her black coffee throughout the day. She made special trips with her granddaughter's to "MacDonald's" as she would call it, to get her coffee and a treat for them. She will be remembered for her strong political stance, her motherly nurture, but most of all for the love that she carried so heavily for both of her granddaughter's.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Edward Putney. Lana is survived by her son; Rob (Lisa) Apana, grandchildren; Emily Rachel Phyllis Apana and Andrea Vivian Kay Apana, cousins; Chuck (Tina) Ross and Barbara Ann Emerson-Sharp, her former spouse; Lionel Wallace Apana, and very special friends; Judy (Zot) Barazzotto.
