Larry E. Clay's Obituary
Larry E. Clay, 81, of Kettering, passed away Thursday December 22, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 16, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio to Alice June (Darby) and Lawrence B. Clay. He earned his bachelors degree from Ohio State University in Aeronautical Engineering before earning his MBA and Masters of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Dayton. Larry worked at U.E.S. (Universal Energy Systems) from 1978-2001 when he retired as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sandy (Hoffman) Clay; sisters Faye Clay and Barbara Clay Hughes. Larry is survived by his wife of 25 years, Doris (Brown) Clay, daughter Pam Clericus (Ron) of Bellbrook, three step-children Brent Henderson (Joni), Chris Henderson (Kerri), and Julie Lyons (Scott); ten grandchildren Ashley Nicole Clericus, Zack Clericus, Dylan Clericus, Kyle Henderson, Lauren George (Todd), Michael Henderson, Matthew Henderson, Deleasa Henderson, Grant Lyons and Zac Lyons; two great-grandchildren Brendan and Aubrey; and sister Shirley Clay of Columbus. At Larry's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45402 (www.hospiceofdayton.org).
