Lawrence "Larry" King's Obituary
King, Lawrence " Larry", Sr. of Middletown, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 20, 2016 in Middletown. Larry was born April 21, 1933 in Mary , Kentucky to Clay and Bertha Lou King. Larry was a truck driver for Air Products and retired after 21 years. He was an Army veteran having served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. Faith in Christ was a central part of Larry's life becoming a Christian in 1963 and was a devoted member of Grand Ave Church of God, Towne Boulevard Church of God and Poasttown First Church of God. He loved his family and treasured family reunions each year, was a lifetime fan of the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed playing pool. Larry is survived by two sons: Larry King, Jr. of Middletown and Gary King of Lakeview, Ohio; grandchildren: Ryan Lee King of Centerville, Michelle Nicole King, Jennifer Lynn King both of Xenia and Matthew Clay King of Kenton, Ohio; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many other family members. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dortha "Dottie" King in 2011 and he was the last of his siblings and is preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters. Larry loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed. A life celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 25th at Posttown First Church of God, 6376 Germantown Rd., Middletown with the family receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 and life celebration service at noon with Pastor Ken Brewer officiating.
