Lenora G. Wegner's Obituary
WEGNER, Lenora G., age 88, of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Gardens of St. Henry.
Lenora worked over 35 years with JCPenney, starting in 1966 and retiring in the early 2000s. She was a hard worker and took pride in her work. Her meticulous attention to detail and exceptional gift-wrapping skills were well-known at work, and she was even known to rewrap packages if they did not meet her high standards.
Generous, caring, and giving, Lenora would do anything for anyone and was loved by all who knew her. In recent years, Lenora attracted many new friends and visitors at the nursing home due to her warm and friendly nature. She had an ornery side to her, along with a competitiveness that often came out while playing cards with her family. Lenora especially loved euchre. She looked forward to family get-togethers for the holidays and enjoyed cooking elaborate holiday meals. Her dining room, reserved for these special occasions, was always a highlight of family celebrations. Decorating was also important to her, and the family often found themselves under Lenora’s direction to put out the perfect decorations. Of all of the things that brought Lenora joy, nothing could match the love and pride she felt for her family.
Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Wegner; son, Paul Wegner; her parents, Elden and Bertha Anderson; three brothers, Howard Anderson, Herman Anderson, and Thurman Anderson; four sisters, Orilla Snyder, Alice Copeland, Opal Cox, and Hazel Evans. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Munt; two grandchildren, Kimberly (Justin) Paul and Vickie Andrews; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katelyn, Daniel, Genesis, and Wyatt; and one brother, Norman (Joyce) Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Celebrant Brian Bennett will be officiating the service. A graveside committal service will take place at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 16, at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Xenia. Condolences at www.connerandkoch.com.
