Lisa Marie Mitchell's Obituary
Lisa Marie Mitchell, age 52, of Spring Valley, passed away on Saturday, November 5th, 2022.
She was born on August 24th, 1970 to Robert and Joyce (Smith) Foster. Unable to finish high school, Lisa later went back and worked extremely hard towards her goal to become a Licensed Practical Nurse, which she did, finishing at the top of her class. Aside from working as a nurse, Lisa also volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol.
In recent years, Lisa was plagued with health problems, but she truly had an adventurous spirit. She liked to travel, especially enjoying cruises and a trip to Hawaii with her husband, Joe Mitchell. She and Joe also loved to ride motorcycles along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the early years of their relationship. Lisa loved purple, "Winnie the Pooh," and shopping. She made the very best Christmas sugar cookies and the most delicious chili. More than anything, Lisa was proudly dedicated to her twin daughters. The girls and Joe were the center of her world. She enjoyed reading with them and was a constant role model of kindness, love, bravery, and toughness.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Joyce Foster. Lisa is survived by husband Joseph Mitchell, daughters Ashley Mitchell and Sophia Mitchell, sisters Barbara Simmons, Diane Norman, Linda McConnell, Dorothy Sutton, and Dorcas Hall, mother-in-law Greta Mitchell, father-in-law Joseph Mitchell Jr., sister-in-law Wendy (Roger) Kimmel, nieces Heather (Zachary) Markwell and Elizabeth Kimmel, and nephew Christopher Kimmel.
