Condolences To Uncle Lloyd, you touched many lives in your time here on earth. You accomplished much during your life as a son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, coach, referee, soldier, non commissioned officer and sergeant major. You have had more of a positive impact in the lives of others than you will ever know.
As a small child, I was inspired by your love and affection for your family and that same love you provided to your extended family as well. I was blessed to have been a part of that extended family. Born in the Appalachia’s, you always exhibited a fierce surge of pride and confidence in who you were and where you came from.
I loved to hear your stories about your military service to our country, your overseas travels and your adventures in the U.S. Army. When I was old enough, I followed the path you had taken many decades before. When I came home from Iraq as a soldier myself; you were there to talk and more importantly there to listen. We didn't talk much about the bad but laughed and joked about all the good that went with military service.
I just wish God had given us just one more Cincinnati Reds baseball game together so that I could say, “thank you” for being there. I love you and you will truly be missed. Sergeant Major Lloyd Bailey, you have a new assignment now; you see things are a little chaotic in the world today and I am sure that God needed you in heaven more than we need you here on earth. Sleep in peace Uncle Lloyd your duty and service here on earth is done.
To Aunt Lois, Jeff, Vicki, Pam and Regina: I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am for the great loss you have suffered. Lloyd was and is a remarkable person who will greatly be missed. A man like Lloyd is an inspiration to us all. As much as we are all going to miss him, I know he will be watching over each of us until we are all once again reunited.
Love, Wayne
My Dear Aunt Lois and My Dear Cousins,
I am so sorry to hear about Lloyd. I wish I could be there with Mom and all of you. Although I am far away, my heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you. I will always remember Uncle Lloyd as such a kind and truly gentle man.
With Love, Karen
