Our deepest sympathies go out to your family. Our fond memories remain.
I knew Loren Gannon well as we shared an office in the History Department at U,D, from 1994 to 2011. I found him to be a nice person to know and to be very dedicated to his teaching in what ever course was assigned to him. He researched his courses thoroughly and shared much with his students by way of slides and powerpoints, He shared much with me his interest in photography and his photographs from many places in Europe. I audited his course in EUROPEAN MILITARY HISTORY and found that his lectures and readings filled a void in my background. He required much from his students by way of essay exams and a research paper, but he was always available for individual consultation. he was a true educator,,,,,Bill Le Jeune...former adjunct at U.D.,1994-2011
My condolences to Loren's family. I served on the Landmarks Foundation of Centerville-Washington Township for many years with Loren. I enjoyed talking architecture and history with him over the years. Loren will be greatly missed by all.
Loren and Ginny were good Friends and Sailing companions. We had enjoyed may days with them aboard their Boat "Me and Thee" as well as their friendship at SMBC. Loren taught us many navigational skills on our sailing trips from St. Simons to southern Florida ports. We have lifelong memories of our time together. Ginny teaching my wife Eileen to play cribbage and Loren talking to us about history and architecture along with a good wine, oysters and Pate. Both were very kind souls. They will surely be missed!Deep condolences.Alan & Eileen ClarkS/V Anam CaraCatawba Island, Lake Erie
Condolences to Loren\u2019s family. He was a good man with a big heart. He came to our church when his wife was in the neighborhood nursing home. We became friends and he spent many hours volunteering in our food pantry. May he Rest In Peace.
