Margaret "Peggy" A. Moore's Obituary
MOORE, Margaret “Peggy” A., age 91, of Largo, Florida, formerly of Bellbrook, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025.
Peggy was a graduate of West Carrollton High School in Ohio. Her career offered her many fulfilling roles, including multiple years at Dayton Power & Light, where she met a special group of friends who remained dear to her. This close-knit group of ladies belonged to Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority, for which Peggy was a past president of the Epsilon Lambda Chapter. Volunteering at Hospice of Dayton was another meaningful way for her to serve others. Years later, Peggy spent 18 years as a sales representative for Estee Lauder in the cosmetics department at Rike’s, where she and her coworkers became known as the “Painted Ladies.” Peggy and her husband, Jack, later fulfilled their love of people and adventure while working as tour directors for AAA, guiding travelers around the world.
Above all of her roles in life, Peggy was most proud of being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family, spending many years at home with the children as they were growing up. Peggy looked forward to hosting family gatherings for any occasion, especially around the holidays and birthdays. Her southern-style meals were always a highlight, along with games and a lot of laughter.
Peggy was a woman with a vibrant personality and unmistakable style. She loved everything beautiful and sparkly, especially shoes. Her love of shopping led her to stores like Stein Mart, Rike’s, and Elder-Beerman, where she would often be accompanied by her best friend of 50 years, Billie. Peggy’s beauty, both inside and out, was matched only by her warmth and friendliness. Her magnetic personality resulted in special bonds with countless people, and her genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna Coatney; three brothers, Eddie Coatney, Jerry Coatney, and Tom Coatney; and one sister, Jane Barton. She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Jack Moore; one daughter, Kimberly (Brian) Leetch; one son, Jeffrey Jack (Christina) Moore; four grandchildren, Amanda (Alex), Jaclyn (Andrew), Katie (Brad), and Lindsy (Matt); three great-grandchildren, Gabby, Beau, and Greyson; and one sister, Carol Ghearing.
