Mary Emmons Tischer's Obituary
TISCHER, Mary Emmons, age 93, of Bellbrook, passed away Monday, June 22, 2026.
Mary was born September 28, 1932, in Dayton to Nelson Emmons and Margaret Shaw Rike. She co-founded Green Velvet Sod Farms in 1959 with her husband, Ray. She was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Dayton, an active volunteer in many organizations, an Ohio State football and University of Dayton basketball fan, a lover of Northern Michigan. She was involved in many groups, including TOPS and Bingo, where she made wonderful friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sophia Crawford, her beloved husband of 52 years, Raymond L. Tischer, Jr., and her granddaughter Jackie Browning. She is survived by her brother Shaw Emmons, son Randy & his wife Beth Tischer of Bellbrook, daughter Peggy & her husband Ray Browning of Akron; grandchildren, Emily (Zack) Cline, Leslie (Sean) Chandy, Melissa (Spence) Kendziorski, Joe (Madeline) Browning; 11 great-grandchildren, Henry Cline, Oliver Cline, Anya Chandy, Noah Chandy, Luka Chandy, Hazel Kendziorski, Hudson Kendziorski, Harlow Kendziorski, Rosalie Browning, Emmitt Browning, and Jasper Browning, her faithful dog companion Niles, and many other treasured nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 am -1 pm on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home, 92 West Franklin Street (S.R. 725), Bellbrook. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Interment in Bellbrook Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairmont Senior Living and Day City Hospice for their tremendous care over the last few months.
