Mary Jane "Janey" Hacker (Page)'s Obituary
Hacker, Mary Jane "Janey", 66, of Bellbrook, passed away Thursday, October 27th, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton, after a lengthy illness. Janey was born May 29th, 1950 to Edith and Oscar Page in Pennsylvania. She earned a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and worked most of her career at Stephen Bell (Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Schools) as a kindergarten teacher for nearly 25 years. Janey was passionate about teaching kindergarten kids and was honored with "Teacher of the Year" award. She loved attending all sporting activities of Bellbrook, whether they were home or away. Janey enjoyed going to the Victoria Theatre with her friends or discussing life with her book club.
Janey was preceded in death by her parents, and son Brian Page Hacker (1982). She is survived by her husband Edward "Ted" Hacker, two daughters Heidi Hacker (Becka), Mandy Polen (Jim), all of Bellbrook, son Joshua Hacker (Christina) of Clayton, seven grandchildren Hannah, Hunter, Liam, Kendall, Caroline, Kaitlyn and Edward, one brother Robert Page (Joyce) of Coral Springs, Florida, and many special friends.
You are invited to wear your Bellbrook's purple and gold as you attend a family and friends visitation on Tuesday November 1 from 4-8 pm at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Funeral Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook. Be prepared to put a handprint in plaster of paris to be used to make a keepsake for the family, a tradition she started with her kindergarteners. Funeral services will be held at her church of 35 years, Hope United Methodist Church, 5980 Wilmington Pike Centerville on Wednesday, November 2nd at 5:00 pm.
