Michael "Mike" Dewey Harnish's Obituary
Michael "Mike" Dewey Harnish, age 63, of Bellbrook, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 25th, 2021 in Bellbrook.
Mike was born on February 13th, 1958 to Justina (Yates) and Charles Harnish. During his younger years he got himself into plenty of trouble with the help of his friends, Mike Brown, Don Bentley, and Frankie Campbell, and together they made a hobby out of "chasing girl scouts." He graduated from Bellbrook High School, and then immediately joined the Navy where he served as a flight deck mechanic. Later, he worked for many years for various companies as a heavy line mechanic.
Mike really enjoyed spending time with his sons, no matter how much trouble they got in to. Weekends were often spent gathering with family. He was most often found fishing, working on cars, remodeling, or chillin with his dog. Later in life, he enjoyed spending time at the Ohio River with his friend Bruce Zimmer. Mike had a great sense of humor. He was funny, and extremely easy to talk to. He cared deeply for those around him and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jeffrey Alan Harnish, grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Mike is survived by his children, Joey Harnish and Jeremy Harnish, grandchildren Tessa Lyn Grace Kennedy, and Cameron Harnish Kelsey Harnish, siblings Ellen Harnish and Christine (Tim) Clegg, many nieces and nephews, and Georgia and Dana.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to share during his visitation at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W. Franklin St. Bellbrook, Ohio 45305) on Monday, July 5th, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Military Honors will be presented at the close of visitation.
