Shelly Graeber Class Of 1995
Wow, I'm in shock! I'm crying as I'm writing this. I just found out on Facebook about the loss of Mr. Woody. Going through high school, I was terrified of the 12 grade because of "the evil" Mr. Woody. There was nothing evil about him. He later told me he enjoyed having the seniors prepare the underclass for his government class. Almost every day he would greet me as I sat at his locked door 15 min after lunch and would let me in and we would discuss how we felt that day because we shared the same health issue. Mr. Woody and Mrs. Kelly made my Senior year. I remember him giving me Mary Kay as a gift for grading his papers, and I still today have some of it left for the simple fact Mr. Woody gave it to me. He made life real for me. He understood where I was coming from with my grandparents raising me and made me feel like I was family. I will never forget the fundamentals he taught me. I truly regret not getting back to him more recently to let him know how things turned out with me. Any student that did not have the opportunity to have Mr. Woody as their teacher, truly missed having some kind of special memory to keep with them for life whether it had been his love for outhouses (the outhouse award) or just the adult conversations that helped prepare you for life after high school. I'm soooo sorry for your loss. He was a great man and one of the best teachers I have ever had. What a sad thing to hear. Mr. Woody you will be greatly missed! I hope your legacy will continue to live on!
