Michael "Mike" Roberts' Obituary
Michael “Mike” Roberts, affectionately known as “Mohawk Mike”, “Uncle Funkle”, and “Bones”, age 56, of Bellbrook, passed away unexpectedly on November 20, 2025.
He was born on April 5, 1969, to Lester and Deloris Roberts in Dayton. He was a self-made business owner who had been proudly working since he was 14. He and his dad, Lester, who was also his role model and best friend, began Roberts Roofing and Siding, which they worked side by side together for 33 years. He then founded Mohawk Trucking, which he owned and operated for more than 17 years. He and his wife, Lara, enjoyed taking vacations to Las Vegas together numerous times a year. Mike was known for his witty sense of humor, constantly pranking his loved ones, and making them laugh. His children would say that he instilled the importance of making something of yourself, making every dollar count, and not taking life too seriously. He was always more than willing to help his friends and family in need. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his "lovely bride" of 27 years, Lara Roberts; sons, Michael Roberts and Justin Stoner; and his "favorite daughter", Taylor Stoner; father and mother, Lester and Deloris Roberts; sister, Melissa Brewer; grandchildren, Scarlett, Moira, and Conrad; niece, Chloe Brewer; along with a host of family members and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, from 3:00 – 6:00 pm, with a service beginning at 6:00 pm at Conner & Koch Funeral Home (92 W Franklin St, Bellbrook, OH 45305). Mike loved the color yellow, Buffalo Bill's, and of course, his trucking company, Mohawk Trucking. In his honor, the family invites you to celebrate Mike's life by wearing something that reflects one of his favorite things. Entombment will follow at the convenience of the family.
