Nicholas "Nick" Holton Jr.'s Obituary
HOLTON, Nicholas “Nick” Jr., age 50, of Bellbrook, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024.
Nick dedicated the last thirty years working for Discount Drug Mart, where he rose from a loyal employee to his current roles as manager of the Springboro location and district manager for the Dayton area.
Friendly and funny, Nick loved to laugh and formed many special bonds with those closest to him. Above all, Nick’s greatest joy was his family. As a devoted father to his daughters Mackenzie and Emma, he was always their biggest supporter. Recently promoted to Pit Boss for the Bellbrook Pit Dads, Nick was very involved in the girls’ color guard teams. He attended every competition and always lent his hands-on support. Family traditions typically involved color guard, but he also created special traditions at home with his daughters, including gifting Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve and preparing Salisbury steak every Friday night.
Nick’s gentle and humble nature was evident to all who knew him. He asked for little for himself and found peace in simple pleasures. Whether it was reading one of his many books or watching his favorite shows like NCIS, Supernatural, and Criminal Minds, Nick enjoyed quiet time at home. He accumulated a vast collection of books, often having a book in every room of the house. He was especially fond of authors like Tom Clancy, Stephen King, and Lee Child. Among many things, Nick will be remembered for his love of Star Wars and Marvel movies, his love of Jenny’s Popcorn, and his fascination with Ireland.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Holton Sr. and Lucinda Holton. He is survived by two daughters, Mackenzie Holton and Emma Holton; two sisters, Heather (Ed) Blythin and Christina Holton; two nieces, Brianna Blythin and Bailey Blythin; special friends and “adopted grandparents” to his daughters, John and Debbie McCullough; and close friends, Brett and his wife Danielle, Brian, Dina, Scott, Amy, Rey, James and his wife Melanie, Jeff, Steve, and Tamara.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM on Wednesday, January 22 at Sugar Valley Golf Club in Bellbrook. A celebration of life service in Nick's honor will follow the gathering at 4:30 PM on Wednesday at Sugar Valley Golf Club. Conner and Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook is serving the family.
