Nicholas "Nick" S. Page's Obituary
Nicholas S. Page, 45, of Spring Valley, formerly of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Nick devoted his life to serving others through the fire service. He began volunteering with the Spring Valley Township Fire Department in 2012. In the years that followed, he also worked part-time with Riverside Fire Department and full-time with CareFlight's MICU Program while continuing his service with Spring Valley. In 2018, Nick fulfilled his dream of becoming a full-time firefighter/paramedic with the Spring Valley Township Fire Department. He continued to faithfully serve his community until his passing.
Nick graduated from Kenton Ridge High School in 1999. Then, he attended Urbana University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine in 2003. While at UU, he was a contributing athlete on the men's soccer team. He attended Spring Valley Global Methodist Church and was an active member of the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association. He also dedicated countless hours to youth athletics, coaching Club X and Waynesville FC soccer teams from the U7 through U14 levels while his oldest son played with the clubs. At the time of his passing, he was serving as President of the Xenia High School Men's Soccer Boosters.
Nick will be remembered most for his genuine love for his family and his unwavering dedication to his community. He was a natural mentor and leader who inspired countless coworkers, young athletes, and friends. Athletic and competitive in the best sense of the word, Nick encouraged others to do their best while making everyone around him feel valued and supported. He also treasured the companionship of his faithful Dalmatian, Obi.
Outside of work, he loved gardening and took pride in growing just about every vegetable imaginable. An accomplished home chef, he became known for his stuffed pork chops, smoked pork shoulder, smoked chili, jalapeno poppers, and meals prepared in cast iron cookware. He had begun writing a cookbook filled with many of his favorite recipes. His wife now considers it one of the greatest gifts he left for their sons.
Sports were another lifelong passion. Nick faithfully cheered for the Columbus Crew and THE Ohio State Buckeyes, and nothing brought him greater joy than watching his own boys play soccer.
Traveling with family created many of Nick's favorite memories, especially the annual trips to Sunset Beach, North Carolina, a tradition that began in 2019. Every summer and some Thanksgivings, family members gathered there to reconnect and create lasting memories together. Nick looked forward to preparing honey-lime salmon, fish tacos, shrimp boils, and countless other meals for everyone. One of Nick's favorite family traditions, on the beach, was gathering in the kitchen to teach the kids how to prepare guacamole and key lime pie.
Above all else, Nick's greatest joy was his family. Whether serving his community, coaching young athletes, cooking for those he loved, or simply spending time together, he gave of himself without hesitation. His influence will continue to be felt in the lives of the people he mentored, the communities he served, and the family he loved beyond measure.
Nick is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kristy; his sons, Connor Mason and Jace Nicholas; his parents, Dale and Connie Page; his brother, Shane (Makenzie) Page; his father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Becky Miller; along with many extended family members, countless friends, and the many firefighters, first responders, and coworkers whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. A Life Celebration service will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 31, at First Church of Christ on Ledbetter Road in Xenia, immediately followed by a procession to Spring Valley Cemetery. Dar Hensley will be officiating the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spring Valley Cares or the Spring Valley Firefighters Association.
