Norma "Lorene" Moreland's Obituary
MORELAND, Norma “Lorene”, age 91, of Bellbrook and formerly of Spring Valley, passed away on February 2, 2026. She was born on October 31, 1934, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky.
Lorene spent nearly 50 years as a hairdresser, making her clients feel and look their best. As an accomplished entrepreneur, she owned and operated several hair salons throughout the Dayton area, most notably Style Setters in Centerville.
Lorene was a proud member of the Spring Valley Community and owned the Barrett House Bed and Breakfast. She was also a member of the Spring Valley United Methodist Church and the Spring Valley Chamber of Commerce, and served as the Chairman of the Potato Festival. For her dedication to the community, Lorene was awarded the Spring Valley Citizen of the Year award.
Anyone who knew Lorene knew of her beautiful gardens, once featured in a magazine. A special thank you to Lori, who kept her gardens vibrant and beautiful so Lorene could enjoy them throughout her years. Ever the gracious host, Lorene enjoyed opening her home and garden up to family, friends, and the community. Lorene had a fondness for travel and owned a home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, with her late husband, Bob. With natural elegance and class, Lorene was loved by all.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Moreland, in 2018; her father, Virgil Bradley; her mother and stepfather, Bessie and Nelson Beal; her brother, Johnny Anderson; and her sisters, Anna Margaret Hamisch and Betty Fathergill. She is survived by her son, Greg (Debbie) Brooks; her daughter, Sherri (Rob) Turner; claimed daughter, Pat (Tim) Copeland; four grandchildren, Amber (Zack) Olds, Alisa (Jeff) Kren, Brittany (Will) Roberts, Matthew Turner, along with extended family the Buschs, Blakes, and Roberts; Lorene’s, six great-grandchildren, Charlie, Evelyn, Brianna, Charlotte, James, and Liam; and special nieces, Alicia Crawford and Cathy Aguilera.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. Lorene’s son-in-law, Rob Turner, will be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Lorene will be laid to rest at Spring Valley Cemetery.
