Ann Ashworth
I was so sorry to learn of Pat's passing yesterday. Pat's mother, Norma Hutton, and my mother, Majorie Ashworth, were first cousins, and since I did not know my grandmothers, \"Aunt Norma\" was the closest thing I had to a maternal grandmother, and therefore, Pat was a close cousin to me. As a child, one of my fondest memories was to visit Dick and Pat in their first apartment, and we often laughed that Dick had trimmed the crust off my toast for me. When I graduated from Miami in 1969, I left for California and only made occasional connections, but much later in 1985, Pat and Dick hosted my parents 50th wedding anniversary at their home in Centerville. I flew in one week early and Pat and I along with Aunt Norma enjoyed great times together that week. Later, when my mother passed away in 1995, Pat and Jim left one of their important conferences that Jim attended and came to West Alexandria so she could read the 23rd Psalm at my mother's memorial service. \r\n\r\nI will always remember Pat as totally devoted to Dick, Jim, Tim and Jon and their wives. She was always delightful, charming, and interesting and inspirational.
