Alexis I am so sorry to hear of Phil\u2019s passing. He is truly one of the most generous people I have ever met. During the darkest days of the financial crisis Phil always had a smile on his face and always had an opinion on what we should do. I could always count on Phil to bring ideas to the table and he didn\u2019t hesitate to tell us what we were doing wrong. I loved and respected that about him. Words can not express the sorrow I feel. Our industry has lost a great leader but more importantly the world has lost a great man. Please know that He was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all. I pray that God wrap his arms around you and your family. I also pray that God brings his A game when meeting Phil. I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Phil on a significant project at work. We never completed a task where he didn't tell our team how much he appreciated all of the effort it took to complete it. He was always rolling up his sleeves to help and clearing pathways for success for the team. He was a true inspiration and example of true leadership for everyone who worked with him. His legacy will live on in all those who were blessed to know him.

Over the years I have often tried to put the right words together to describe Phil. Until today, I struggled to find the right words because no word or words seemed to express what I wanted to say about him, or the way I thought he deserved to be described. Today, I realized it\u2019s not words I\u2019m searching for, but true to expression of appreciation for the times that I walked away from a conversation with him feeling like I had learned something, yet again, and the times he made me feel valued by remembering the names of my kids, by always answering my calls, fostering an environment where it was ok (even expected) to say I didn\u2019t know the answer. To this day, I use his line \u201cit\u2019s not a loaded question\u201d. Around Phil, I (we) felt like I (we) mattered, always. I\u2019ll miss his holiday pants, hearing about his retirement plans to be a gentleman farmer in SC and the reminders that customer service better be nothing less than less than god enough for his mother! Phil you made a mark in the world, you set a standard that most men will struggle to meet. Thank you for everything. I feel so fortunate to have known you!!

P.D., as his Citadel classmates knew him, and I were roommates our senior year, although we fell out of touch over the years. He was quite the outgoing personality, and was elected "Master of Revels" of the entire Senior class. Responsibilities included, among other things, organizing college-wide Senior Parties, which were basically informal balls with live musicians. I often think we were assigned to one another to "balance the equation" as math majors. We were pretty much polar opposites, as he was very outgoing and I was pretty much a bookworm. A finer gentleman I never knew...... even as a teenager PD was a Gentleman. Every memory I have of him is of a fun, upbeat guy, always ready with a new joke! He was like a little brother to me trying to bribe Clare and me to take him somewhere! And even 40 years later he always knew my voice over the phone! My love and prayers to all of his family, I know you are missing this bright light in your life. May your memories bring you peace. God takes us to our Heavenly Home where we are simply waiting for our loved ones.

My sincere sympathies for PD's family and friends. PD was my first friend in Greenville South Carolina and at Eastside High school. I remember many evenings spent in his living room listening to albums. I also have fond memories of Claire and Mrs cunningham. I remember an epic first week at the beach with claire. It's been wonderful to reconnect with him after so long period he tracked me down on Facebook and I was so grateful. It sounds like he had a wonderful life with so many friends that admire him.
