Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel at the sudden loss of Phil! Our hearts go out to family in your time of sorrow.I am sure Lawrence Welk, and his orchestra were at the Gates of Heaven to recruit Phil! What beautiful accordion music he will provide for the Christmas concert in Heaven! My name is Emma Avalone Rooney. My mother Rose Mancuso Avalone was a first cousin of Philip father Anthony. My mother’s mother Anna sister of Mary Ragno Philip’s Grandmother. When I read Philip’s obituary I thought I would have loved to have known him in our lifetime. However, distance separates families. My Uncle Joe Ragno, Anthony’s brother, moved to NJ near my parents . We visited Johnstown many times when I was a child, my mother loved Josephine. My deepest condolences to your family. Philip had a wonderful life with a large loving family. I’m very happy for his fulfill life .
Amazing uncle and great memories. Always looked forward to when Uncle Phillip came to Johnstown. He would "drive" the four of us kids around the school lot in the bed of his pickup truck-the four of us just giggling and rolling around like crazy. His laugh was infectious and his accomplishments many! Sending loving thoughts to you all!
I remember meeting Uncle Phillip in Pennsylvania for a family event. Donnie always spoke of him so adoringly & he lived up to the image I had of him from the many stories shared. He welcomed me warmly and made me feel included right away. His smile was contagious and people were drawn to his gregarious personality. We will miss you, Uncle Phillip!
