Ralph Owens' Obituary
Owens, Ralph, age 79, of Bellbrook passed away Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 at Ohio Hospice of Dayton.
Ralph was born on August 23, 1937 in Speedwell, Tennessee to Sarah Vinnie (Jones) and James Louis Owens, who preceded him in death, along with three brothers, Larry, Vantoy "Rip", and Dewey, brother-in-law, Lynn, and Ralph's beloved dog, Peyton.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis (Pace) Owens; son Dale Owens of Bellbrook, and daughter Stephanie Demko (Richie) of Sugarcreek Twp.; four grandchildren, Rachel Owens (Chris), Matt Owens, Christian Demko and Casey Demko; two great-grandchildren, Owen "#1" and Aaron; five sisters, Roxie Wilson, Stella Mundy (Ralph), Lucille Moyers, Joyce Graves (Kelley), all of Tennessee, and Anna B Hatmaker of Middletown; two brothers Claude Owens (Betty) of Winterhaven, Florida, and Milt Owens (Mary Lee) of Speedwell, Tennessee; and special in-laws Judy, Peggy, Ann, Dood and Jerry.
Ralph retired in 1993 from General Motors, Delco Moranine Products, where he worked as a brake inspector.
Ralph enjoyed sports, whether it be attending sporting activities for his kids and grandkids or following the University of Tennessee, Detroit Tigers, and Cincinnati Reds. He has always been admired for his recall of stats of his favorite players/coaches/teams including Peyton Manning and Sparky Anderson. He was a member of Greene County Horseshoe Club. He also enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and just being outside.
Ralph loved family get-togethers. In celebration of Ralph's life, you are invited to make "Jim Dandy's" and enjoy cashews and popcorn when you attend a "get-together" of family and friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook . Life celebration services will follow at 7:00 pm. Plan to share a story during the family and friends fellowship following the services.
