Strous, Richard Lee "Dick", age 88, of Xenia, passed away Friday, January 7th, 2022. He was born March 20th, 1933 in Pickaway County, in the little town of Adelphi, in the corner of Ross, Hocking and Pickaway counties, to Effie M Read Obituary
Dick was a lovely person who I came to know through his daughter Nancy who was my penfriend. The first time I came to Xenia I was welcomed as one of the family. I will always remember the kindness of both Dick and his wife. Such lovely people. May they rest in peace together. Brenda White
Sharon & I dearly loved Dick. He was always busy helping with our church, serving the Methodist men of Faith, Double I S.S.Class, trustees, usher, where ever needed. Dick was always willing to share his time, gifts and talents and always a very positive person. He was chief cook for many Double I S.S. and Men of Faith gatherings. We shall miss him greatly. May he rest in peace. We send our love and prayers to the family.
It was a pleasure to visit Dick in Xenia last October. I\u2019ve enjoyed him and his family on my visits to see my Aunt Pat Strous. Her traditional gatherings brought many fond memories, and certainly stories from Dick and Delores too. I\u2019m hoping to come down in Spring for Memorial Day. My thoughts are with!Bill
Uncle Rich as he was known to me, was engaging and always fun to talk to. As many know, he was a pillar of the Xenia Community, his church and especially the local historical society. Also, he was part of the \u201cgreatest generation\u201d and few remain as more and more like him pass everyday. Lastly, to me, he embodied what it was to be a family man and always put his family first in his life. We will miss him with his passing but those in heaven are gaining a wonderful soul.
