Rita M. Marie Morgan (Thomas)'s Obituary
Morgan, Rita M., 92, of Bellbrook, passed away Monday March 28, 2016 at Friendship Village, Dayton. She was born Oct. 11, 1923 in Dayton to Leah (Shoop) and Samuel S. Thomas. In 1940, she met a boy named Fred Morgan at a little church on Cincinnati Ave. in Dayton when his parents brought him as they visited, and she later became his wife. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roy, and sister Thelma. Rita is survived by her husband of 73 years, Fred Durward Morgan; three sons, Dale (Marilyn) of Piqua, Robert (Mary) of Bellbrook, Sam (Cindy) of Wilmington; nine grandchildren, Mike, Debbie (Steve), Danny (Sherry), Rita (Jim), Karen (Lee Roy), Jonathan, Stephen (Courtney), Carrie and Paul; 13 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. Rita was passionate about the Church of God (Anderson), taught Sunday School for several years, and loved attending church. She thoroughly enjoyed crocheting and knitting, making many things for others to enjoy. She was very creative, even making bow ties for Fred. She enjoyed reading, especially Karen Kingsbury novels; picture puzzles, canning, freezing and shopping at garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores. The family invites you to her life celebration visitation on Thursday March 31st from 6-8 pm at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook and Friday April 1st from 10-11 am at Moraine City First Church of God, 5867 S. Springboro Pike, Dayton. Life celebration services continue at 11:00 am at the church with Pastors Russell Hays and Dave Turner officiating. A luncheon will follow for family and friends to fellowship further.
