Robert Louis Minnish Jr.'s Obituary
MINNISH, Robert Louis Jr., age 62, of Spring Valley, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
Robert graduated from Fairmont High School, class of ‘80. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He worked as a welder for the Navy. His career reflected his strong work ethic, precision, and hands-on skills.
Robert enjoyed riding his motorcycle, often taking leisurely cruises whenever he had the opportunity. He had a lifelong passion for working on cars, especially muscle cars and hot rods. He took great pride in restoring and maintaining them. He loved spending time outdoors, fishing from his boat at Caesar Creek, and enjoying time on the water. He also enjoyed playing euchre, chess, and shooting pool. In addition, he looked forward to the spring season, which brought the tradition of morel mushroom hunting with his family, and to the simple pleasures of being outdoors.
Robert was talkative, friendly, hardworking, and truly never met a stranger. He was ambitious and generous, always willing to lend a hand, share a story, or help someone in need. Family was the heart of Robert’s life. He cherished family vacations, especially trips to a lake house in Rochester, Indiana, when his children were young. He also enjoyed adventures to the Outer Banks. He especially loved spending quality time with his children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Among many things, Robert will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love of family, and his ability to connect with anyone he met.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Louis Minnish Sr. and Barbara McDaniel. He is survived by his two sons, Robert Louis Minnish III and Conler Dean Minnish; his daughter, Jamie (Michael) Logan; his grandchildren, Brock and Roman; his sister, Patricia “Patty” (Eddie) Frazier; and his two nephews, Michael (Ashley) Frazier and Logan Frazier.
