Roy L. Cook's Obituary
Roy Lee Cook of Centerville, Ohio passed away February 23, 2023. Roy was born January 14, 1944 in Dunmor, Kentucky to Mary Magdalene Mallory (Dennie) and Lee H. Cook. Roy was a retiree of General Motors Corp.
He was loyal, caring, and committed to his family. He loved hanging out with friends and family, listening to country music, monthly breakfast with his GM pals, travel, ice cream, taking long walks, and bird watching. He would do anything for anyone and he looked after his neighbors. He had a strong appreciation for public service. He served as a member of the
West Carrollton City Council for eight years and often campaigned for other candidates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 50 years Beverly Cook, daughter Kellie Herbst, son Jeffery Herbst, sister Cynthia Hutchison, and brother Scott Mallory.
Roy is survived by his siblings Patricia Illers (Mike), Karon Brown (Robert), Jerry Mallory (Angeletta), Terry Cook (Cathy),
Sonny Cook, Steve Cook, Mickey Cook (Tina), Tim Cook (Roz), and Sharon Meyers (Phil); sister-in-law Dotty Howton; close friend Frankie Harris; children LeAnn Zavakos, Jamie Cooper, Mary Cook, Patrick Cook; grandchildren Joshua, Sean, Elliot, Tyler, Nick, James, Brooklyn, and Rachel; and great grandchildren Warren, Sam, and Jasper.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 6 from noon to 1:00 pm at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W. Franklin St. (S.R. 725), Bellbrook, Ohio 45305) (937-848-6651), with his Life Celebration Service to follow immediately. Roy will be buried at Heritage Hills Memorial Gardens on Tuesday at 10:00 am.
