Samir Fouad Hanna's Obituary
Samir Fouad Hanna, age 90, of Bellbrook, passed away on Monday, November 21st, 2022.
Samir was born in Cairo, Egypt on May 1st, 1932 to Fouad and Faika Hanna. His father passed away when Samir was only 8 years old, and by 14 he had joined the work force to help provide for his mother and siblings. He worked for a period of time at NCR in Cairo, but decided to immigrate, coming to the states with only $200 to his name, he was able to acquire a job at NCR headquarters in Dayton, Ohio fixing cash registers over the phone. When he retired in the early 90's, he had worked there for over 40 years.
Samir enjoyed fishing in his younger years and playing cards with friends. He enjoyed beach vacations, reading about history, specifically WWII history, and watching tennis on TV. He favored classical music and classic movies. He cared deeply for his family and friends. He was a deacon at his church, St. Mina & St. Abanoub Coptic Orthodox Church, and a dedicated servant to the faith community there. Samir was a determined, loyal, and generous man of faith who will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fouad and Faika Hanna, and son Maged Hanna.
Samir is survived by his wife Victoria Hanna, daughter Mona Mikhail, son-in-law Saad Mikhail, granddaughter Sidney Mikhail, grandson Zachary Mikhail, and numerous cousins.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited attend a visitation held in his honor at St. Mina & St. Abanoub Coptic Orthodox Church (1531 King Richard Pkwy, Miamisburg, OH 45342) on Monday, Nov. 28th from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. A funeral mass will be held immediately following the visitation on Monday, Nov. 28th, 2022 at 11:30 am. A procession to Miami Valley Memory Gardens (1639 E Lytle 5 Points Rd, Centerville, OH 45458) will depart after mass.
