Sandra H. McNulty's Obituary
It is with great sadness and loss that we announce the passing of Sandra McNulty (Sam), beloved wife of Dr. Rev. Edward N. McNulty for over 62 years, on Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
Besides her husband, she leaves behind five children and their families: Nevin (aka Scott) McNulty, Ellen Brownson (Steve), Rebecca McNulty (Andrea Ellis), Paul McNulty (Candy, and granddaughter Isabella), and Daniel McNulty. She also is survived by two brothers, Nevin Meredith (Maureen) and Tom Meredith (Jane).
Sandy touched many lives in so many ways in her 84 years of life. She loved her family, nature, gardening, garage sales, antiquing, baking and cooking, entertaining (and theme parties), Scrabble, Jeopardy, and Willie Nelson. She befriended everyone she would meet, from neighbors to the mailman, the sanitation workers, and grocery store clerks. She did her best to pass on her Erma Bombeck sense of humor, which her children thought was really punny. Sandy’s creativity showed in all aspects of her life. She coauthored a book with her husband, edited numerous articles, papers and newsletters, doodled cartoons depicting the news of the day, drew, painted and sketched in many forms, and created many amazing liturgical banners that were enjoyed by several congregations. She also loved to let Madame B. Zirka out at times to meet the people.
A celebration of life is tentatively planned for October 8, 2021. Further details will be updated on this site as they become available.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to one of Sandra’s favorite organizations:
SERRV (a fair trade organization) – https://serrv.org
Christian Children’s Fund (sponsor a child and give hope) – www.childfund.org
Sierra Club (protect wildlife and places) – www.sierraclub.org
The Heifer Project (providing world communities with sustainable tools to reduce hunger and poverty) – www.heifer.org
