Steven W. Lacy's Obituary
Lacy, Steven W., age 49, of New Lebanon, passed away Saturday, August 26th, 2023 in Dayton after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born June 16th, 1974 to Sharon (Brookey) and Leroy Lacy in Kettering, Ohio. Steven attended Bellbrook and Alter Schools. As a child he was known to be a bit accident prone....with a broken leg (jumping off the roof of the house), a broken arm (swinging from a clothes bar in the laundry room) and stitches in his wrist (from putting his arm through a storm door in the garage) all before his 6th birthday. Luckily for the family, he grew out of this phase.
Steven moved to Seattle, WA after high school and lived there for 24 years before returning to Ohio. He was known as a devoted father, who loved his children more than anything in the world. He was an Auto Mechanic, a skill he shared with his father and also his son. Steven also enjoyed cars and racing in his spare time. He would fish with his kids, garden, cook, collect guns, and go shooting for fun. Steven could brag that he had traveled to every state except Hawaii and Alaska, and mostly with his Dad. Steven's favorite meal was his Mom's beef Stroganoff, but not when his sister made it. He was most recently employed as manager for Midas.
He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Lacy, grandparents Roy and Mary Lacy, Walter and Henrietta Brookey, and dear friend Jon Simmons. Steven is survived by his son Charles "CJ", daughters Laryssa, Kileigha, and Kennedy; his mother and step-father Sharon (Dave) Pleiman, brother Chuck (Kim) Lacy, his sister Kelly (Jim) Petruso; and the mothers of his children Anna and Mikki.
To help the family celebrate his life, you are invited to share during a Life Celebration Gathering at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home (92 W. Franklin St. Bellbrook, Ohio 45305) on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, which will conclude with a brief prayer service. He will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research (https://lustgarten.org/living-with-pancreatic-cancer/?form=give) or Hospice of Dayton (https://www.hospiceofdayton.org/donations/) .
