Steven "Steve" R. Mastbaum Sr.'s Obituary
Steven Robert Mastbaum, Sr. "Steve", AKA John Henry Loveless to his cowboy friends, born May 3, 1942, died peacefully on October 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert J. Mastbaum and Ruby M. Mastbaum (Rose).
Steve graduated from Centerville High School Class of 1960. Over his working career in the printing business, he made many lasting friendships. He was a member of Masonic Solar Lodge 730, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.
Steve loved people and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He had a quick wit and enjoyed telling and hearing a good story or joke. He had many interests and enjoyed collecting things that appealed to his artistic eye. He loved his workshop where his creativity flowed freely. One of his favorite pastimes in his shop was making beautiful and unique birdhouses. Before his vision failed, he enjoyed Cowboy Action Shooting and was instrumental in the design and building of the Cowboy Shooting Range at Greene County Fish and Game. He had many good times there and made many great friends. Over the last couple of years when he could no longer drive, he appreciated his friends who came and took him to breakfast or lunch. You know who you, and he enjoyed every minute with you.
Steve deeply loved his family, and was very proud of his children and grandsons. He is survived by Pam, his wife of 58 years, son Steven Mastbaum, Jr. and wife Chris, daughter Stephanie Falzerano and husband Mike, grandsons Alexander Falzerano and Benjamin Mastbaum and wife Megan, much loved sister Karen Hirshberg and her sons Jon Griffith and Andrew Hirshberg, dear brother-in-law Henry Mayberrry and wife Lois and their sons Geoffrey and Peter Mayberry and their families. He is also survived by his cat Pearl, who will miss his daily attention.
