Land, Susanne M.
Susanne was born December 18, 1928 in Dayton to Laura Mae (Beach) and Robert St. John Adams. She passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the age of 86. Susanne graduated from Miami Valley Nursing School and became a registered nurse. She was present for the medical department’s first heart surgery, started the oncology unit and later became the head nurse in the recovery room. Susanne also worked for more than 20 years for Dr. Robert Winslow, all at Miami Valley Hospital. She enjoyed reading, especially about history, music and will be lovingly remembered for her love and support of her daughters and grandchildren. She liked to cook and bake. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her rose bushes. Susanne was a member of Bellbrook Presbyterian Church and took pleasure in participating with its bean dinners and decorating around Christmas time. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Russell Adams. Susanne is survived by two daughters, Christy Blank (Craig); Laura Hoehner (Brian); four grandchildren Neal Blank (Beth), Travis Blank, Lindsey Slivinski (Jake), and Samuel Guess; three great-grandchildren Annie and Avery Blank, and Noah Slivinski, along with nieces Stephanie and Amanda and their families. The family will receive friends Sunday January 25th from 3-5 pm at CONNER & KOCH Life Celebration Home, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). We will celebrate Susanne’s life on Monday at 1:00 pm at CONNER & KOCH. Burial will be in Bellbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
