Timothy "Tim" E. Copley's Obituary
COPLEY, Timothy “Tim” E., age 79, of Kettering, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at the Victory Ridge Dayton VA Hospice.
Tim grew up in Crum, West Virginia. He graduated from Crum High School, class of ’64. He honorably served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War, although he was primarily stationed in the Philippines. For many years, he worked in metal fabrication at Black Clawson as a layout man. When Black Clawson closed, he became an electrician and worked for Chapel Electric and the Local 82 Union until he officially retired in 2010.
Being outdoors and in the woods was Tim’s happy place. He looked forward to hunting season every year, traveling to Southeastern Ohio to go deer hunting. His hunting grounds were the perfect place for the bird houses he made. He had a soft spot for animals and loved feeding the birds and chipmunks. Loving the outdoors as much as he did, he would find odd-looking pieces of wood and create canes and lamps. His canes became handy in the last several years. He loved watching sports, especially NCAA Women’s softball and basketball, WNBA games, and all football games. He was always very organized; he could be stubborn at times, but he always took care of things that were important to him and provided for his family. He looked forward to family get-togethers because he was a fan of a good meal.
Tim was preceded in death by his son, Timmy Copley; his parents, John Henry Copley and Anna Laura Copley; two brothers, Bernie Copley and John Copley; and two sisters, Mary Baker and Sue Winters. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Jennie Copley; two sons, Brian (Melinda) Copley and Doug (Kristina) Copley; one daughter, Kelly (Mike) Rammel; seven grandchildren, Heather (Chris) Rammel, Emily (Kyle) Perrigo, Clara Copley, Luke (Claire) Wright, Connor Wright, Collin Copley, Rachel Flanigan; and four sisters, Alice Adams, Una (Hugh) Goldie, Ann Kokoski, and Joanne Smith.
Funeral services will be 1 pm on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. Life Celebrant Brian Bennet will be officiating. Burial will be at Bellbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Condolences at www.connerandkoch.com.
