My grandfather was a huge part of my childhood going up. We visited him in Ohio at least once a year, if not two or more times. It was so fun visiting Ohio each year with the whole family. I remember going to the pharmacy in the backyard each time we visited and buying some candy and hanging out in the aisles. We also went to Skyline Chili all the time and Grandpa always got us a York peppermint patty each time for dessert, one of my favorite candies to this day because it that. He was a man of few words, but his actions have helped teach me to be a better person today. He was always showed up for the important events in my life and demonstrated that just being there for someone speaks louder than words. Pictured below is the last time I was able to spend time in person with him at the Outer Banks with the family. I remember going there when I was little as well with Grandpa and Grandma and the rest of the family, so it was fun to re-visit the same place again with him. It was so fun to soak in the sun with Grandpa and catch up one last time. He will be forever remembered and loved.
