Charlie served the Bellbrook community for many years through Wells Pharmacy (1965-1998) which he began with his wife, also a pharmacist. Helping others defined who Charlie was and he often filled prescriptions after hours so people could start their medications sooner and he would call to check on many customers. Charlie and the pharmacy were a fixture in Bellbrook and were a part of many fond childhood memories as kids rode their bikes to "the pharmacy" to get candy, bubble gum cards or model airplanes. Charlie also served Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church (Dayton, OH) for more than 40 years in various roles, including usher and church treasurer. He was also an enthusiastic supporter of local collegiate and professional sports teams.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on 12:30 pm Wednesday, February 24th at Faith Lutheran Church, 3315 Martel Dr, Dayton. Visitation will precede the service, starting at 11 am.
