McDougal, James R. “Jim”
A quiet, gentle, humble and devoted family man, born July 13, 1937 in Beallsville, Ohio to Erma (Reed) and Raymond McDougal. Jim grew up on a dairy farm and developed a love and appreciation for nature. He collected guns and enjoyed hunting with his sons. Jim was a Civil War Era enthusiast and he liked instrumental music from the 50’s and 60’s. His wife, Marsha, will lovingly remember the walks they took at Cox Arboretum and Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina where they vacationed and hunted seashells. Jim retired from the Mound in Miamisburg in 2002 after 43 years of service. He worked as Manager of the Heat Source Program. He passed away Saturday January 11, 2014 at St. Leonard Center, Centerville after a battle with Parkinson's. Jim is survived by his wife, Marsha, one daughter, Cassandra Pfeiffer (Matt), two sons, Frank McDougal (Tammy) of Pendleton, Kentucky, and Phillip McDougal (Becky) of Eagle Mountain, Utah, two step-sons, Christopher Elliott of Santa Barbara, California, Kevin Hill of Columbus OH, two step-daughters, Tracy Harrison (Matt) of Waukegan, Illinois, and Jennifer Huston (Brian) of Cincinnati OH; ten grandchildren Nathan, Joshua, Danielle Pfeiffer, Morgan, Tucker, Parker, Taylor McDougal, Lauren Elliott, Jake and Trent Huston, and one brother, Neil McDougal (Arden) of Marietta, Ohio and 2 nephews Brett McDougal (Linda) and Jay McDougal (Sarah). The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Tuesday January 14th at CONNER & KOCH Home for Funerals, Cremations and Life Celebrations, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook (937-848-6651). A celebration of Jim’s life will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm at CONNER & KOCH. Interment in Bellbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation in memory of Jim to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
