She was a great friend to me and my family. I think Shirley Smith knows her too.
I remembered for when Marlene was Mrs. Claus. She asked our mom if she was a good girl. Our mom told her that she was a good girl. She told our mom that is not what Santa said. I missed her laughter and we all loved her. She is with our mom because our mom passed away September 14, 2015. She was 70 years old.
There are no words to describe the perfect friend who lit up every room and person inside..her wonderful sense of humor..one day at the farm a red convertible pulled up and it was Marlene dressed up like Dolly Parton..dearest friend heaven is an even better place with you there
Marlene was my Godmother and my mother's best of friends. They were like sisters. I loved her a lot. Also her family. My mom Annie being a single mom, Godmother Marlene and her family welcomed me.
The most beautiful memories I have of Marlene is whenever she comes around she lights up the room and everyone's lives. She is an angel.
I remember her at the flower shop with my mom. She was so good at floral designing. She would deck out fashionably daily and extra special for holidays. Like being an Easter Bunny or Mrs Clause. She would even deliver in fashion and made people smile.
We would always have a great time.
I remember the little times like going to the bank drive thru and we kids get a sucker. I remember her saying keep it in your mouth and mouth closed. Or lose the sucker lol
Or when she take me to Angela's to get my hair done. I was a brat but ever so grateful.
When I had a loose tooth she had Frank my godfather knock out my tooth. He did. Didn't hurt one bit. And Matthew was like a brother. Watched over me a few times when I was at the house.
I would also remember going to Christmas Brunch with her family almost every year. She was Mrs Clause. So much fun. Making ornaments and coloring. Having pancakes.
Marlene was always there for supporting us and being a shoulder to cry on. She always listened. Always was there when we needed her.
Always will be an Angel. We love you Marlene. You always be missed but never forgotten. So grateful for you and your family. Always in our heart.
Marlene was my fun-loving, adventurous cousin. My earliest memories of her climbing around on a tree in front of her house. I joined her and it was probably a little too much for the small tree. She was about 7 and I was 9. She giggled a lot. The last time I saw her in the hospital in recent times, her same bubbling personality was still evident, in spite of her limited mobility. She will be greatly missed and my prayers are with the family she leaves behind. My wife, Jeanette, joins me in this sentiment. (Jim Vermilya, Noblesville, Indiana)
