Holding Aunt Patsy and all her children and grandchildren in Light and Love
I am very saddened over the recent passing of Patricia Adeline Hines. "Patsy" will be greatly missed - from her 2nd Cousin, David J. Drumm
I have so many wonderful memories of Pat. She was so much fun and just a joy to spend time with. It was our family's privilege to get to spend many evenings and holidays with her. Any time we got together she would be decked out in all her holiday, or team swag ready to have fun! She always had a story to tell about a case Judge Judy had that day and she was just the quirkiest gift giver, making the anticipation of what she might be giving you exciting. ( I'm smiling as I write this thinking of crushed boxes of Irish Spring soap, generic sodas wrapped in saved tin foil ....) She and her friend Christina would sometimes come for dinner along with Nick and Paula and then stay after they left so they could visit and have more wine. We also enjoyed several years of watching firework on the hill near her house on the 4th of July. She often brought out "refreshments ". Mini bottles of wine that she had gotten on sale. It made the 4th extra special. What I loved most though was having a chance to just talk with her. After my mom died I thought of her as the Mom in my life. The things she shared about her life and what it was like when she was in her twenties or thirties, etc... were really special to me. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and with good reason. You have all cared for your mom/Oma so well and so willingly. It is a testament of what a special person she was and what a good mom she was. My family and I will miss her so much but have many many wonderful memories of our wonderful friend/surrogate Mom and Oma.
