Patricia "Patty" Ann Morris' Obituary
MORRIS, Patricia “Patty” Ann, age 65, of Kettering, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024, at St. Leonard CHI Living Communities of Centerville.
Patty graduated from Fairmont East High School, class of ’77. She worked at GM Delphi for ten years, retiring in 2009. She attended the Bellmont Methodist Church and, more recently, was attending the Spring Valley Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and was honored to just recently do a solo of “The Rose” at her church.
She had a passion for collecting and selling antiques and was well-known in Tipp City as a collector. She made many memories with her many friends at auctions, estate sales, and the 127 sale. She loved attending flea markets and shopping at thrift stores. She was well known for finding special gifts she knew others would love. She collected anything and everything. Some of her favorite collections were Boyd Bears, Longaberger baskets, carnival chalk figurines, cake toppers, and old black and white photographs. In addition, she greatly enjoyed mushroom hunting and collecting fossils and arrowheads. She was a social butterfly through and through. She was well known for having conversations anywhere and with anyone. She talked the entire two hours of the drive during a road trip once with her girlfriends. She always had something to say and wanted to share everyone’s story that she got to meet. Patty had a zest and lust for life. She was outgoing, loving, spunky, and lived life to its fullest. She loved her pets, and they helped her through her journey of life. Her favorites were her dogs, Callie, Spanky, Donut, and Tuffy, and her pet cat, Max. She loved watching the ‘Sound of Music,’ her favorite movie. She enjoyed organizing Sunday lunches for the family and being the director of the games during the Carter family reunion. Among many things, she will be remembered for how proud she was of her son, Nathaniel.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Frank Morris. She is survived by her son, Nathaniel (Leah) Morris; granddaughter, Lila Morris; mother, Alice Morris; one brother, David (Lisa) Morris; three nephews, Michael (Nicole) Morris, Christopher (Patricia) Morris, and Tyler (Alyssa Lowe) Morris; one niece, Dara (Carl) Phibbs; numerous other grand-nieces and grand-nephews; best friend and caregiver, Shelly Sowder; many special friends; and a host of extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, April 13, at Conner & Koch Funeral Home in Bellbrook. Dar Hensley will officiate the service. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home on Saturday. If desired, contributions may be made to SICSA. Condolences may be expressed at www.connerandkoch.com.
