Richard K. "Dick" Ross' Obituary
Ross, Richard "Dick" K., age 77, of Bellbrook, passed away Sunday, February 14th, 2021 in Bellbrook.
He was born January 10th, 1944 to Ruth (Kimble) and Gale Ross. Dick completed his Bachelors at Ohio University and his Masters from Wright State University. He played in the Ohio University band, and attended their football games as long as his health allowed him. He was employed as a history and English teacher for Bellbrook Sugarcreek Schools. In addition to teaching, he was the Theater Director and coached both Girls Basketball and Boys Football. History was a passion of Dick's, and the number of books in his collection is evidence of that.
Travel is another passion of Dick's. He traveled in his service in the Army, and during his time in Korean he developed an appreciation for the culture. He continued to travel as a civilian, and both he and his wife Barbara can boast to have traveled to all 50 states. Some of those travels involved New Orleans to experience the Jazz music enjoyed, and spending holidays throughout the year at his parents.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his aunts, Jen Kimble, Frances Kimble, and Helen Kimble.
Dick is survived by Barbara, his wife of 44 years, children Jeffrey (Michele) Kurtzman and Mark (Jody) Kurtzman, 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and a special friend, Joe Ballenger.
During this difficult time of COVID, the family has chosen to hold private services and internment at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in memory of Dick. You are welcome to send a condolence and share a story or picture about Dick at www.ConnerAndKoch.com.
