Jeanne, Aaron, Wes and Brandon, we are sorry to hear of Richard's passing. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers.
Jeanne,
We always had fun flying balloons with you and Dick. He was such a trip! I still love the story of him washing your sandstone doves in the dishwasher and turning them back into eggs! No doubt Dick and John O'Grady are whoopin' it up in heaven...maybe he's teaching John euchre! Our prayers are with you and your family. May God bring you peace.

Mrs. Frederick,
After viewing the video tribute, I now know the source of your great sense of humor. I hope that will continue to carry you through the lonely days ahead. I'm sorry to hear about your husband's death. CLR, student supervisor from Wright State University.
Jeanne, I am so sorry to hear about this. I really enjoyed the time we spent with you and Dick while ballooning. I recall vividly my first flight with Dick when I was just learning to fly the ballon. We landed out near 444 and just barely was able to get deflated before dragging through a fence. You Dick were always so much fun to be around.

Jeanne, we were so very sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Like Roger said, I can just see him and Johnny O up in heaven telling stories. He was a great guy - crewing for him with the balloon was always a fun time. We will miss him so very much and our prayers are with you in this time.
Mr. Fredericks was my seventh grade science teacher at "the new Bellbrook Jr. High School". He left a huge impression on me as both a firm and compassionate teacher. I remember so many things: how he praised me for a report on stages of a star, and his eloquent talk to us about NOT smoking. For his family and loved ones, please know he has touched the future by the positive
impact he made on all his students.
Wes, and Family. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to fly with Richard. We launched the balloon in Bellbrook and hoped to fly across Xenia.. But, the wind slowed and nightfall was approaching so we had to land on the south side of Xenia.. right next to the Cincinnati Ave junk yard. We bounced off the roofs of a few junk cars and then landed right on target.. the middle of a side street! Someone called 911 because they thought we were crashing.. Lights and sirens everywhere!! We were far from a crash.. it was truly a skilled, intentional and impressive landing! Although I didn’t spend much time with Richard, I felt I knew him very well thru Wes.
Many prayers for you all.
Wes, Mrs. Frederick & Family -- Our deepest sympathy to all. Chief Frederick is how I always knew him. I can recall some appropriate stern "Come to Jesus" meetings that he orchestrated circa early 1980s in Bellbrook. -- The Lischke Family
We are so sorry to hear of Richard's death. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
My sympathy to all of the family. I have know Richard since a child. My older brother Gary Monhollen and Richard were friends, roommates in college, taught together at Bellbrook, and Richard spent many evenings playing poker in my parents basement with my dad and Gary. My thought are with you.
